Victor Chandler appoints London digital communication company


Victor Chandler International's online sportsbetting clients can look forward to a completely redesigned website in the near future following an agreement signed this week with the London-based digital communications company Reading Room.

The specialist company has been appointed to redesign Victor Chandler International's flagship sports betting site with a re-launch target timed for the start of Euro 2008.

According to chairman, Victor Chandler, "Reading Room's creative approach to their pitch combined with an obvious enthusiasm for usable transactional design put them head and shoulders above the competition."

Reading Room's brief is to attract new audiences to bet on football and the emerging pastime of in-running betting whilst retaining the loyalty of the site's core racing customers.

The concept is for groundbreaking designs will capture the excitement of online betting and reflect the aspirational positioning of the Victor Chandler brand.

Behind the scenes, Reading Room's usability experience is also being put to good use in maximising revenue opportunities by simplifying and demystifying the complex betting processes.

The CEO of Reading Room, Margaret Manning said, "The highly transactional processes and information rich content of betting sites tend to lead to saturated and intimidating interfaces that do little to educate or inspire new users. Built up over three generations of race track bookies, Victor Chandler International has built a solid reputation amongst punters as the 'Gentlemen's Bookmaker'. In the late nineties the company eschewed the high street and launched on the Internet, with brands like VCCasino, VCPoker and VCGames.
