DOING PENANCE AT iPOKER?
30 November 2007
Network sites could be suspended for failing to
obet "no rake" rule at Playtech
Earlier this (November) month we reported on the
exclusion of Maestro Poker.com from the iPoker online
poker network operated by Playtech, which has imposed a
requirement on its licensees that they not promote or
advertise the "no rake" concept. This week it appears
that instead of summary dismissal from the network,
Playtech may have introduced a defined "penance"
exclusion period for transgressors.
The new policy became evident when network site
NoiQPoker.com advised its affiliate marketers that it
will be "fenced" from the iPoker network from 29th of
November - 6th of December, although this temporary
exclusion does not include MTT and Sit n Go's.
"This means none of our players will be able to play
cash games against other iPoker skins, but cash games
between NoiQ players will still be possible," the site
management told affiliates, confirming the ban would be
for 7 days.
NoiQ said the reason for the ban was that certain
affiliates had advertised NoiQ's VIP system, which is
not permitted in terms of the Playtech rake policy.
"Some sites containing the name "rake" have advertised
NoiQPoker. This is not allowed in terms of the latest
policy from iPoker," the managment notification advised.
"NoiQ has failed to remove its name from all rake
domains. We have done our best but it's hard to find
them all," it concluded.
NoiQ has undertaken to adopt stricter policing of
affiliates and regretted any inconvenience the
suspension may cause to players, said Affiliate Manager
at NoiQ, Nils Erik.
