ANOTHER SHORT SESSION IN MILLION DOLLAR POKER
CHALLENGE (Update)
15 May 2009
But playing the 50 000 hands in total
required is likely to be a long-drawn-out affair
The online poker, multi-table, million dollar plus
gauntlet thrown down by Tom 'durrr' Dwan and initially
picked up by Patrik Antonius (see previous InfoPowa
reports) requires that the winner be judged over a total
of 50 000 hands, but at the rate the challenge is going,
and given the hectic playing schedules of the two
Internet aces, this could take some time.
And
with the World Series of Poker looming on the horizon it
is unlikely that there will be much challenge action
during that global competition.
The two clashed
again this week after an hiatus of several days, and
once again it was a short session of only 310 hands,
bringing to 13 556 the number of hands played to date.
Antonius entered the session $500 000 ahead of his
rival, but Dwan's cards were good this time around and
he whittled that lead down to $ 391 704 after winning
several large pots, one of them for $144 383.
MarketPulse stats show that a total of $ 83 339 179 has
now been wagered in the challenge, with an average pot
size of $ 4 425. 43 hours of action have been devoted to
the event so far.
