Local student wins top A$ 246 500 prize
 

The inaugural PokerStars Australia New Zealand Poker Tour A$ 2 200 buy-in main event wrapped this week at the Star City Casino in Sydney, with a victory for 25 year-old local student, Paren “Puzz” Arzoomanian.

The Sydney student defeated an entry field of 493 players to carry off the honours and the A$ 246 500 first prize cheque after beating Gold Coast mortgage broker Lisa Walsh in an exciting heads up. Walsh collected A$ 162 690 as the runner-up.

Next outing for the ANZPT is May 25th at the Crown Casino in Melbourne, where the main event will carry a A$ 2 700 buy-in and the tournament is capped at 450 entrants.
