IRISH BETTING ROW GROWS
1 May 2009
HRI wants double the money from Betfair
Irish on-course bookies and the online betting exchange
Betfair appear set for a monumental row over fees paid
to Horse Racing Ireland by the Internet gambling group.
It is not yet clear who is at fault in the
confrontation; Betfair claims that the HRI wants it to
double its contribution and is refusing any payments it
offers at the current rate, whilst the HRI's CEO Brian
Kavanagh has accused Betfair of "refusing" to pay the
money.
