UK PLAYERS LIKE THE LOOK OF PKR POKER

Statistics show that online poker site is ahead of the biggies in popularity


A press release from the 3D online poker firm PKR.com this week boasts that its poker website has come out tops in the Hitwise Gambling (Poker) category, finishing ahead of other major players like Ladbrokes Poker, VC Poker and William Hill Poker in visits from UK players.

Hitwise is an online competitive intelligence service that provides insight into the interactions between 8.4 million Internet users and over 1 million websites across 160 industries in the UK.

Based on the market share of visits among all UK websites, PKR.com came 1st in the Hitwise Gambling-Poker sector, leapfrogging its major rivals.

Marketing Director Simon Prodger said, “We are extremely pleased with this award. We have seen some phenomenal growth and it’s not slowing up. We have never accepted US players so to achieve the top ranking in the UK is fantastic.”

The award caps an impressive start to 2008 for the next generation poker room. In February, PKR.com hit the 1.5 million user mark, and by the end of that month the site had climbed to 17th on Pokerscout.com’s online poker real money gaming report, overtaking established sites such as Betfair and Ladbrokes.
