Three new events in popular online poker series
The latest version of the Full Tilt Poker Online Poker
Series - number 8 in the series - commenced this week,
with WPT champ David Chiu hosting the first event in the
24 contest program that runs through to May 18 and
offers large prize-pools, attracting thousands of online
poker fans.
Several of the events boast guaranteed prize-pools in
excess of a million dollars, ensuring high levels of
interest and thousands of entries for contests hosted by
internationally respected players such as Chiu, Jennifer
Harman, David Pham, Roland de Wolfe, Phil Ivey, Jeff
Madsen, Gus Hansen, Max Pescatori, Nick Schulman, Mike
Matusow, Lee Watkinson, Paul Wasicka and Phil Gordon.
In FTOPS 8 Harman will host the popular main event, a
Texas Hold 'em competition that carries a buy-in of
$500+$35 and a guaranteed prize-pool of $2 million.
Three new "mystery tournaments" introduced to FTOPS 8
have been the cause of some speculation recently, and
Full Tilt has now confirmed that these will be:
* A May 8 No Limit Hold'em Triple Shootout with a
maximum entry field of 729 and a guaranteed proze-pool
of $300 000. Buy-in for this event (number 3 in the
program) are $500+$35.
* Event 8 is the Heads-up No Limit Hold'em, restricted
to 2 028 players who will pay a $500+$35 buy-in to
compete for a guaranteed prize-pool of $250 000.
* The final "surprise" event is number 17, where a
buy-in of $200+$16 gets a maximum of 1 296 players into
the 6-handed No Limit Hold'em Quadruple Shootout with a
guaranteed $200 000 prize-pool.
FTOPS 8 follows a well proven and successful path, with
at least one event a day at the Full Tilt website
through until May 18, and guaranteed prize-pools
totalling $10 million for this major online poker
tournament.
