Familiar faces in instructor line-up

World Series of Poker champions of the calibre of Annie Duke, Greg Raymer and Erik Seidel are the well known faces behind a new online poker training website branded ProPlayLive which launched this week with the tagline "The Poker School that Never Closes."

The site works on a subscription basis with students coughing up $19.95 a month following a one-time $49.95 registration fee. Players can buy five months in advance and ProPlayLive will waive the sign-up fee.
The site will be competing with other training sites such as Cardrunners, PokerXFactor and the more recent Bluefire Poker.

ProPlayLive's customer service exec, Beverley Pipes, says that the new site offers training to both the online player and the live game player who visits casino poker rooms or plays home games. She boasted that ProPlayLive already has a library of over a hundred poker videos, and that in addition to the ownership trio coaching will be available from Tom McEvoy, Bill Chen, Alex Outhred, John Lukas, Mark Kroon, and Shawn Rice.

Videos available include five hours of the PokerStars Sunday Million, four hours of the PokerStars Nightly Fifty Grand, and a variety of cash games. Each video is labeled along with what poker skills it emphasises, including tight cash game play, the squeeze play, chip accumulation versus survival, and reasons to avoid playing small cards in Omaha.

In the introductory press release, Annie Duke claims: "For the tiny cost of joining ProPlayLive, players get top level instruction that would cost them literally thousands of dollars if they hired poker professionals like myself on a one-on-one basis. The value to anyone who joins is tremendous - it's really a no-brainer."
