CONFERENCE CORNER
13 March 2009
Taxation, fair distribution of revenue and
self-regulation
These issues are perenially red-hot topics, and Clarion
Gaming intends to address then at its next European
Gambling Briefing, scheduled for 22-23 April 2009 in
Budapest.
Included on the agenda are the legal
challenges to OPAP, Svenska Spel, the Dutch Ministry of
Justice v Betfair and other individual legal battles
taking place across Europe.
Has this litigation
stagnated or is there the prospect of resolutions in the
next year or so?
Do you know what the
repercussions will be for your company and jurisdiction?
Even where a decision is not in your sovereign
territory?
And when was the last time you
managed to sit down for an intimate talk with 8
government or regulatory decision makers, over 10 of
Europe's top gaming lawyers, and over 100 operators,
consultants, monopolies and media editors to get an
unrivalled, detailed view of the regulatory landscape in
Europe today?
Answers at EGB Budapest...in April.
CAC Amsterdam will have plenty to talk about
The momentous events and changes currently sweeping
through the affiliate world will undoubtedly provide
affiliate programs and affiliate marketers themselves
with ample stimulus for conversations at the next big
affiliate bash - the 7th annual Amsterdam Casino
Affiliate Convention, which takes place March 30-31 at
the NH Grand Krasnapolsky Hotel in the colourful Dutch
city.
Organiser Marc Lesnick says that his
company has finalised the agenda, which can be found at
http://www.cac2009.com/agenda-amsterdam-2009.php,
and that he anticipates that a good program, allied to
the networking opportunities and the topicality of
recent affiliate developments will bring out a record
attendance. Last year saw a thousand delegates at the
event.
"Apart from Gary Beal's 3 hour intense SEO
session, we have our traditional advanced and
informative European gaming sessions on Analytics, Web
2.0, and Video Advertising, Lesnick said this week. "CAC
Amsterdam will also have the Black Hat/White Hat session
and discussions on ethics in the industry."
Lesnick stressed that the get-together is free for all
affiliates who are members of the GPWA, Poker Affiliate
Listings and Affiliate Guard Dog, from which it appears
that CAC intends to cock a snoot at the Casino Affiliate
Programs organisation.
