CAKE POKER MOBILE
13 March 2009
Beta testing program going well
One of the Internet's fastest rising online poker
networks, Cake Poker, has been quietly testing its new
mobile offering using what is understood to be
proprietary technology.
Launched on February
12th 2009, the Beta test program for the Windows based
mobile offering has apparently been well received. Any
device running Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0 or higher is
capable of running Cake Poker Mobile. Examples include
the Motorola Q and the HTC Touch. For Windows Mobile 5
devices, players may first need to install Microsoft's
.NET Compact Framework.
The games include Texas
Hold 'Em and can be accessed, along with more
information and test incentives at mobile.cakepoker.com.
This release is open to the public, and Cake have asked
for feedback on the real-money action presented through
this new platform in order to progressively tune it to
player demand.
The Cake Network plans to release
the facility to its member operators, and possibly
across a wider range of platforms, once the Beta phase
has been successfully completed.
The mobile
gambling market is growing steadily, which explains the
growing operator interest - in a recent Juniper study it
was estimated that despite the troubled world economy
the mobile gambling sector could reach $5 billion in
revenues in 2009-2010.
