The Internet's biggest poker site cruises past 8
000 tournament entries
Online poker continued to hold the interest of players
across the planet this weekend, with the giant Poker
Stars.com website reporting a new record entry field for
its regular PokerStars Millions tournament of 8 063
registered players.
The high turnout produced major prizes and a
considerable money bubble, and was won by Australian
player s0stndrd who took home $160 102.98 after doing a
two-way deal with his heads up opponent from the United
States, vm1124 who pocketed $150 000.
Other significant wins on the website included TheKaas
from the United States, who collected a cheque for $96
352.96 after winning the PokerStars Sunday Warm-Up in
another two-way deal with fellow finalist and countryman
Kid Wonder on $80 000, and the PokerStars $5 200
Freezeout $100 000 top prize which went to Norwegian
player nordlending. Many of the Internet's top poker
players were vying for the top prize, increasing the
respect due to the Norwegian.
The teenage poker star from Norway Annette Obrestad
(Annette_15) came away from the PokerStars Sunday
Hundred Grand $20 000 richer after a great performance
that saw her emerge the winner from a field of around 20
000.
