March is likely to be the biggest month in Irish poker site's history


Millions of dollars are up for grabs this March as Paddy Power Poker.com prepares for the biggest month in the site's history. On top of the usual $12.5 million in monthly guarantees, March will be bookended by two of the biggest tournaments taking place anywhere in the world this spring.

Kicking off the month on March 2 at 8pm GMT is the $2 Million Guaranteed, a No Limit Hold'em Freezeout which is the largest single online tournament ever to be held on the site. With a buy-in of $1 500 + $80 this event will attract many of the biggest online players in the world as they compete for a minimum first prize of $400 000. Daily feeders and a multitude of satellites will ensure a large field for this prestigious event. Satellites are already running for this event with a $3 buy-in.

Three weeks later, from March 19 to 24, all eyes will turn towards Dublin for Paddy Power Poker.com's flagship event, the Euro 3 Million Guaranteed Irish Open (see previous InfoPowa report). With a Euro 4 200+ Euro 300 buy-in, this is the oldest and largest major poker tournament in Europe, and it's set to break records again this year with its increased capacity of 1 000 players. Many of the world's top professionals, including Doyle Brunson, have already confirmed their seats in a bid to win the coveted Terry Rogers Memorial Trophy and a minimum Euro 800 000 first prize.

Running alongside these two enormous tournaments are a plethora of freerolls, giveaways and guaranteed tournaments which equate to a massive $12.5 million each month. Every night the website features at least one major guaranteed multi-table tournament, culminating with the $200 000 Guaranteed each Sunday at 7pm.
