KISMET TAKEN OVER BY CANTOR GAMING
23 March 2007
Veteran turnkey supplier adds new software
development clout
Kismet Studios, formerly Goldplay and a veteran turnkey
online casino provider has become part of the Cantor
Gaming group, adding software development and operating
experience to the firm. Having recently closed Harrods
Casino, but retained Red Lounge Casino, Kismet has a
contribution to make in both areas.
Kismet also runs Pacific Amusements, a PAGCOR branded
online casino available via internet cafes in the
Philippines that utilises Kismet’s casino software and
pre-paid card technology. The Philippine Amusement and
Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) is the government-owned and
controlled corporation that regulates all games of
chance in the Philippines, which recently decided to
branch into online casinos by offering PC-based casino
play from internet café’s.
Cantor's association with the famous New York brokers
Cantor Fitzgerald, and its success in the "on-premises"
handheld project with US land casinos and FHM Casino
will be augmented by Kismet capabilities that have
already produced a suite of over 40 quality online games
and backend facilities.
In taking over the gaming assets of the Kismet Group,
the Cantor management hope the acquisition will empower
Cantor to "move rapidly forward on behalf of its
customers" and provide the ability to deploy a tried and
tested online gaming platform that has proved it can
take millions of bets.
Following this week's announcement, Lee Amaitis, Cantor
president said: "This acquisition is the latest
initiative to ensure that we offer our partners and
potential partners the best possible solution in the
online gaming market."
Manu Gambhir, Kismet's founder, will be the new managing
director and Tom Kenny will become the director of
business development and sales.
