Now Ongame powers up its effort by $400 000

The weekly online poker tournament action went up a gear this week with the announcement by Ongame Network that it is to add an additional $400 000 to its weekly guaranteed prize money.

The move comes as additional operators and their players join the giant network, resulting in a revamp of its poker tournament offerings.

Ongame's announcement revealed that the network is to add a total of $400 000 throughout the month of March to its weekly guaranteed prize money, boosting the weekly $1 million already guaranteed.

"We will raise the guaranteed prize pool in all of our biggest regular tournaments, but will also add multiple new daily guaranteed events," said Martin Lerby, Ongame Network manager. Lerby added that the additional money is designed to give the operators on the network the broadest selection of daily guarantee tournaments during European, Pacific and Canadian prime time.

Some of the new guarantee tournaments have already been introduced while others will premiere shortly. The most celebrated regular poker tournament on the Ongame Network, the monthly Grand Tournament, will also feature a new guarantee of $ 150 000 for its eleventh outing during the last weekend of March - a figure expected to grow in the months to come as players take full advantage of a new flexible tournament ticket system introduced in January.
