IT'S AN ILL WIND.....
9 March 2007
Purple Lounge the proof that bad news for some can
be good tidings for others
The online poker and casino company Purple Lounge.com is
proving the old adage that it's an ill wind that blows
nobody any good with the news this week that new player
signups have jumped over 30 percent, apparently as a
result of players switching poker venues in recent weeks
following the merge of Tribeca and Tain, and the
subsequent takeover by Playtech.
These corporate moves left many players looking for
alternative places to play, and it appears that Purple
Lounge is the venue where many of them landed.
Purple Lounge chairman Chris Gorman says, "We're very
fortunate the merger has encouraged players to try
alternative poker rooms and we find once players join
Purple Lounge, they very rarely find a reason to leave.
Aside from the usual poker and casino bonuses and cash
prizes, once new sign-ups discover the distinctive and
unusual lifestyle aspect our site offers in addition to
poker and casino, they usually stay with us.
"Very few other sites have access to our money-can't-buy
prizes, sold-out sports matches and concerts and
invitation only launches, awards and parties that we do.
Our partnership with Quintessentially, the worldwide
concierge service, secures our leadership in this area."
The European online gambling market has become
increasingly competitive in light of the recent change
in US gambling legislation, says Gorman adding that
Purple Lounge has successfully built up a base of over
42 000 registered players since it's launch in 2005, and
continues to attract a large number of players seeking
somewhere to play that offers a more boutique and
bespoke approach to poker and casino than larger sites.
