GAMEACCOUNT TO HOST 2007 ONLINE RUMMY WORLD CHAMPS
2 March 2007
"Thinking man's poker" can see millions of pounds
sterling changing hands monthly
Kevin Dale, the CEO of UK skill games provider
GameAccount.com has announced that the site will host
the 2007 Online Rummy World Championship.
The card game that acted as a practice ground for
legendary WSOP Champion Stu Ungar and was made famous by
screen legend James Bond in the movie Goldfinger is set
for a revival, says Dale. The game, that has been dubbed
'Thinking Man's Poker', is reportedly complex to play
but so easy to learn that it can be quickly mastered.
GameAccount.com is the first global site to meet the
needs of both amateur and professional gin players,
having hosted over 100 million hands of gin rummy for
stakes ranging from GBP1 to GBP1 000 per game. Every
month, millions of pounds change hands between members
of a growing community of keen gin players, the company
claims.
The 2007 tournament will take place this summer, with
the prize fund being announced over the next few weeks.
Dale says that serious card players are looking for a
fresh new buzz or adrenalin rush that is similar but not
identical to poker... "The 'Gin Rummy World
Championship' will be a rewarding experience akin to
other competitive online tournaments," he believes.
