BRIT TV INTERACTIVE CASINO NEXT FOR NETPLAYTV

Interactive television gaming group set to
launch casino on UK terrestrial television
The dynamic interactive television gambling group
NetPlayTV plc has it's next venture lined up - an
initiative aimed at exploiting more enlightened media
guidelines in the UK by launching the first interactive
gambling offering on UK terrestrial television.
The move takes advantage of a recent Ofcom (the UK media
regulator) decision to reclassify gambling programs as
teleshopping, allowing distribution between midnight and
06h00 over major public television channels.
The
venture will involve successful subsidiary
SuperCasino.com, which recently reported very positive
results that included growth of 80 percent (see previous
InfoPowa report).
NetPlay's media partner in the
new enterprise is not presently known, but the company
already has a distribution agreement with Channel Five
which would appear to be a logical extension.
In
his CEO's report on the company's latest results, Martin
Higginson claimed that live interactive gambling
outperformed digitised gambling by a factor of 6 to 1.
The company also has plans for the retail betting
sector. In his CEO's report this week, Higginson said:
"We are today in advanced talks with a major
international betting shop chain about deploying our
live games into their retail outlets."
