New prepaid card approved by GamCare
 

The advent of a pre-paid debit card that allows gamblers to set their own limits has been applauded by the UK problem gambling charity GamCare as a step in the right direction.

The Eclipse Prepaid Mastercard includes a specialist landing page for customers wanting to deposit money into gaming accounts, something that has won the support of Gamcare because it allows players to maintain closer control over their spending.

The card is accepted at most gaming sites and can be topped up by anonymous transfer from a regular account or by telephone in less than five minutes. It allows players to choose how much they want to spend in any given month in online entertainment and, as it’s prepaid, can never be overdrawn.

“Using a prepaid debit card when gambling online can help players stick to the limits they set themselves,” said Eileen Kinghan of GamCare. “This is one way of gambling responsibly and helping gamblers to avoid financial difficulties.
