Free spins win quadruples an already major jackpot


A Houston, Texas online gambler's good fortune will be bad news for a local builder who did a mediocre job and may now find himself in court. Internet player HowardG's windfall $200 000 video slot win has provided him with all the legal fees he needs to pursue the builder.

The 55 year old online gambler was playing Bodog Casino's Victory video slot, which has an historic naval theme and was launched by RTG in January of this year, when he hit four "captains" and a "ship." With the ship symbol's "Wild" value, the lineup gave HowardG the equivalent of five captain symbols and a win worth $50 000.

Not a bad achievement, but there was more to come for the Texan, because he hit the big line whilst playing one of the 50 re-triggering free spins available in the game, thus turning each ship into a four times multiplier and quadrupling his winnings to a super-boosted $200 000.

Interviewed by Bodog Beat, the Texas player said he had been playing regularly at Bodog Casino for the past two years, but this was his biggest win. Describing the sight of tens of thousands of dollars piling up on his computer screen at 10 pm at night as "pretty amazing," he joked that it drove his blood pressure up, something that might not necessarily be good for a 55-year-old!

The player works in the oil industry as a commodity trading advisor and is married with a son aged 11. At least part of the windfall will be invested in house repairs and civil litigation against the builder.

"The builder made some mistakes when he built my house about seven years ago so I’m having some major repairs," HowardG explained. "I have to hire a lawyer to sue the builder. Fortunately I’ve been able to rent the house next door to me while the repairs get done. But it’s going to cost about $300 000 to get it all fixed, and we’ll probably have to wait about a year to collect any money from the builder."

Bodog says that Howard isn't the only lucky Bodog Casino player to strike it big in recent months. In May, JosephV. of Florida hit the "Let 'Em Ride" monster hand, a royal flush, cashing in on the progressive jackpot worth $196 468.
