INTERACTIVE TV WILL BOOST BINGO
20 June 2008
'Red Button’ bingo arrives on British TV screens
British Sky Broadcasting has announced what it claims is
a new way to play bingo with the launch of Sky Bingo
Interactive, allowing viewers to play bingo and watch
their favorite Sky shows at the same time.
Sky Bingo can be played either online at Sky Bingo.com
or interactively on television. By simply pushing the
red button on the Sky remote control and selecting “Play
Sky Bingo” on the menu, players can enjoy bingo with all
the comforts of home and no need to venture out. If
players choose, they can minimise the Sky Bingo screen
to show only their leading tickets and the ball calls,
or fully minimise, to show how many numbers they have to
go on each ticket that they have purchased.
“Bingo continues to grow in popularity in the UK and we
are thrilled to be the first to bring bingo to TV
audiences,” said Edward Moss, Marketing Director at Sky.
“Sky Bingo is a revolutionary and innovative new format
for a traditional and popular game that has fans across
the country, and what’s more, selected games are free to
play every Monday and Thursday”
The service offers three different ways to play the 90
Ball Bingo game; the player wins with one line, two
lines or a full house. Every Monday and Thursday, Sky
Bingo will offer selected games for free, and players
have the opportunity to win jackpots that start at GBP
10 000.
Sky Bingo players will be able to use their accounts to
play on the other services of the Sky betting and gaming
family, which includes Sky Poker, Sky Vegas and Sky Bet.
