BWIN ADDS UK MOTOGP CHAMPIONSHIP TO ITS SPONSORSHIPS

Vienna-listed company will be lead sponsor for British Grand Prix


The Austrian online gambling group Bwin and the MotoGP World Championship have inked a deal whereby Bwin will be the lead sponsor of the next British Grand Prix at Donington Park.

The agreement covers the 2008 and 2009 seasons, with this year’s British Grand Prix to be held on 22 June, and follows similar arrangements with other European countries announced in March this year, in which this major provider of online gaming entertainment has reinforced its link with top international motorcycle road racing.

Bwin’s sponsorship deal for the British leg of the MotoGP season is in addition to its current sponsorships of the MotoGP events at Jerez de la Frontera, Spain, and Estoril, Portugal, as well as TV track advertising at the Czech circuit at Brno, Czech Republic, where the deal includes sponsorship of a curve and bridge at the famous circuit.

A company spokesman said the partnership with Dorna, the rights holder for the MotoGP gives both partners a strong sense of continuity throughout the racing season.
