APT MACAU PRIZE-POOL HIKED
6 June 2008
$1.5 million guaranteed will almost double the
winner's prize
The Asian Poker Tour has followed a successful APT Milan
tournament with the news that it is to boost the
guarantee on the prize-pool for its next outing in Macau
to $1.5 million. The hike in the guarantee will ensure
that the winner's prize for the Macau event will be
around half a million dollars - almost double that of
the recent Manila tourney.
The APT Macau is planned for August 26 through 31 at the
StarWorld Hotel and Casino.
APT Manila attracted an entry field of 316 players,
among them internationally respected aces such as Evelyn
Ng, Huck Seed, Mansour Matloubi, Nam Le, Quinn Do, Chip
Jett and Steve Sung. The Australian player David Saab
took the title, the respect and the main prize of $280
000 after a heads up with Korean pro Chris Roh following
a final table that featured players from Sweden, Korea,
Australia, Japan, the Philippines and Italy.
