The Internet's biggest online poker site is providing 220 WSOP main event packages

The giant of online poker, Poker Stars.com is making a major contribution to the numbers of players registering independently for the World Series of Poker main event early next month. By the time the big event opens, Poker Stars will have awarded 220 packages worth $12 000 apiece in its Mega Satellite tournament - a staggering investment of $2.64 million.

Originally guaranteed at 150 packages, the tournament was so enthusiastically supported that the total was raised to 220.

Poker Stars package entrants are also being offered an added sweetener by the site - if a PokerStars.com player makes it to the final table, he or she will get an extra $100 000 bonus. And if a Poker Stars beneficiary achieves a second of third placing at the final table that bonus rises to $250 000.

But it's the top prize that carries the most additional Poker Stars honey - if a player on a PS package wins the main World Series of Poker event, he or she will not only harvest the millions paid out by poker's biggest prize-pool....there'll be an extra million dollars from Poker Stars, too.
