BOSS MEDIA NAMES NEW CEO
22 June 2007
Johan Berg's successor announced
Two months ago the online gambling industry was taken
by surprise when Johan Berg, then "boss of Boss" Media
announced his resignation after two years in the hot
seat at the Swedish turnkey provider. His
responsibilities were temporarily taken over by the
firm's head of business development, Markus Holm (see
previous InfoPowa report).
The next chapter in the Swedish saga opened this week
with the announcement by chairman Meg Tiveus that the
Board of Directors of Boss Media AB has appointed
Michael Hallén (43) to the post of CEO and President.
Hallen was formerly President and Chief Executive
Officer of IFS (Industrial and Financial Systems), and
has long-standing experience of software and
international operations.
During his time as President of IFS up to 2006 Hallen
succeeded in reversing a negative trend and in achieving
profitability. Prior he worked in various executive
positions at IFS, involving responsibility for both
product development and marketing. During recent years,
Hallén has also served as a Member of the Board of
several fast-growing software and service companies.
"The Board of Directors is delighted at having recruited
Michael who, based on his experience of both software
development and international operations, will further
strengthen Boss Media's strategic focus on becoming a
complete supplier of platforms for digitally distributed
game-based entertainment for international customers in
the gaming industry," said Tivéus.
Hallén will assume his new position on July 1.
