RICHARDSON LEAVING CHARTWELL
1 June 2007
Richardson not prepared to move to Malta
Chartwell Games, the European sales arm of Canadian
turnkey provider Chartwell Technology is to lose CEO Lee
Richardson later this year in an amicable split.
The company is reportedly moving its main European
marketing office to the Mediterranean island of Malta,
and Richardson told eGaming Review this week that at
this time he is not prepared to relocate from the UK.
Richardson has emphasised that his departure is under
amicable circumstances, and revealed that he is still a
major stockholder in the company and proud of his
achievements at Chartwell. Richardson will announce his
future plans soon.
Richardson is the second senior industry executive to
decline to make an international move. Cryptologic CEO
Lewis Rose found himself in a similar situation when the
company decided to relocate its head office from Toronto
to Dublin, Ireland and stepped aside for Javaid Aziz to
take the reins earlier this year (see previous InfoPowa
report).
