PADDY POWER'S ONLINE MAN HEADS FOR AUSTRALIA

Barry will be appointed commercial director at Sportsbet
 

The Irish online and land gambling group Paddy Power has wasted no time consolidating its hold on recently acquired Australian Internet sportsbook Sportsbet (see previous InfoPowa reports), appointing its head of online operations, Cormac Barry, as commercial director as the Australian operation.

A ten year veteran with Paddy Power's management team, Barry's extensive knowledge of matters marketing will make a valuable contribution to the enterprise's future development, and he will be moving to Australia next (August) month to take up his new responsibilities.

Sportsbet was acquired in May this year in a move by Paddy Power involving some A$48.5 million. The Irish bookie went on to acquire another Australian gambling company, International All Sports, using Sportsbet as its vehicle for the takeover.
