Additional cash will be used to improve equipment
 

Online gambling group Betfair has added a further Euro 3 000 to its Euro 25 000 sponsorship of a Malta cycle team this week, reports the Times of Malta.

The Lifecycle team will use the cash for equipment improvements prior to their attempt next week to cycle from Istanbul, in Turkey to Damascus, in Syria in aid of the Mater Dei Hospital's Renal Unit.

The gambling firm had earlier donated Euro 25 000 as a title sponsorship.
