MORE STAFF CUTS AT GALA CORAL

Another 45 employees declared redundant
 

The major UK land and online gambling group Gala Coral has made a further 45 members of staff redundant at its Nottingham headquarters in an effort to streamline and integrate the marketing divisions of its online and land-based divisions.

With a debt burden of around GBP 2.5 billion, an unpopular enforced government no smoking ban and a tough economic climate, the group recently cut 300 other jobs (see previous InfoPowa report) from its land-based bingo hall operations in addition to further venue closures.

The group operates four distinct online brands, Coral.co.uk, GalaCasino.co.uk, EuroBet.com and GalaBingo.co.uk, providing bookmaking, bingo and casino services.
