At WSOP, the final table is set for the $50k H.O.R.S.E. event

Big names continued to fall by the wayside as Day 3 of Event 49 - the $50 000 buy-in H.O.R.S.E. competition ended, and as InfoPowa went to press late Monday night Las Vegas time the following were among the many who had been eliminated from an original starting field of 95 players: Alex Kravchenko, Barry Greenstein, Gus Hansen, Doyle Brunson, Tony G, Phil Ivey, Erick Lindgren, Chris “Jesus” Ferguson, Scotty Nguyen (lasy year's winner), Greg Raymer, Thor Hansen, Bill Chen, and Matt Glantz.

The final table had been decided by the end of Day 4 when Gus Hansen was eliminated in 9th place and consists of Erik Sagstrom, David Bach, Vitaly Lunkin, John Hanson, Huck Seed, Ville Wahlbeck, Erik Seidel and Chau Giang, all of whom will all return Tuesday at 2 p.m. Vegas time to play down to the next winner of the Chip Reese Memorial Trophy.

Swedish online pro Erik "Erik123" Sagstrom continued to hold the lead for most of day 3, and heads the final table in chip count on 3 675 000, over a million more than his closest competition, the Russian pro Vitaly Lunkin who holds 2 490 000. Finnish poker wizard Ville Wahlbeck, who along with Lunkin is already a bracelet winner this year, is the short stack with 645 000.

95 players entered for the event, generating a prize pool of $4 560 000, which translates to a whopping $1 276 606 main prize payday for the eventual winner.
