MR. GREEN CHALLENGES ONLINE GAMBLING GIANTS IN AUSTRIA

The Austrian online gambling market has a new competitor

The Swedish-founded online casino Mr. Green.com has taken its first step into the German-language market, launching a new language version in the the hyper-competitive Austrian sector this (July) month.

“We believe our main competitors in Austria to be local operations like Bwin and Casinos Austria,” said Mikael Pawlo, managing director of Mr Green, adding that his company is the only casino operator in the Austrian and German market offering the variety of three different casino platforms: Nyx Interactive, Net Entertainment and Betsoft Gaming. The in-house developed integration of these diverse vendors has made it possible for players to swich between the different platforms without exchanging chips or coins.

“Mr Green’s focus in design and providing the players with extra thrills has proven successful resulting in a very aggressive growth in Scandinavia. We expect our Austrian launch to be just as successful, Mr Green being the first to offer the next generation of slot machines in the Austrian market” said Pawlo.

The online casino has hired Mario Kochwalter as its country manager in Austria. He has a strong background in television marketing and sales, having been FIVB TV Coordinator at STVMD, Rights Manager, TV & New Media at Sports TV Media Distribution and TV & Marketing Director at United Strongman Federation.

Founded in August 2008 (see previous InfoPowa report), Mr Green.com is the brainchild of two former Betsson partners, Fredrik Sidfalk and Henrik Bergquist and the current md, Michael Pawlo, who has a strong Internet, policy and marketing background. The operation offers commendable responsible gambling facilities, including a service which enables gamblers who wish to do so to set their budget limits before starting to play. The operation is licensed through the Malta jurisdiction's LGA.
