WILL HILL SEARCHING FOR A TOP ONLINE EXEC
25 July 2008
UK gambling group's Web operations a major
responsibility
The London personnel head hunting firm Amos and Bailey
has been commissioned to find the right man - or woman -
to head up the significant online operations of the
William Hill gambling group in Europe, reports The
Times.
The successful applicant will take responsibility for
the extensive November 2008 relaunch of the group's
online operations, re-engineered on the directions of
Group CEO Ralph Topping after an expensive and failed
attempt to set up its own technology (see previous
InfoPowa reports) The new system is currently being
constructed by Orbis Openbet.
The Times comments that the incumbent could at some
future stage be in line for Topping's job, too.
Some 20 percent of Will Hill group revenues currently
come from the Internet operations of the firm, but
Topping is on record as saying that he believes this can
be boosted by another 10 percent with the right sort of
restructured online activity, and could even bring in 50
percent of group revenues in time.
