Cantor Fitzgerald subsidiary acquires on-premises
mobile gambling interests
The New York-based Cantor Fitzgerald group, already in a
strong proprietary technology position in the new market
of mobile gambling on licensed land casino premises,
acquired a second string to its bow this week with the
acquisition of Michael “Mickey” Wichinsky’s family of
businesses by subsidiary Cantor Gaming.
The group now owns the Wichinsky company’s comprehensive
catalogue of casino games, its intellectual property and
gaming expertise, and its full library of art, designs
and technology.
The acquisition provides Cantor Gaming with one of
Nevada’s richest portfolios of gaming content, developed
over 50 years. Mickey Wichinsky will remain as a
consultant to the company as Cantor integrates and
adapts games and content from the Wichinsky catalogue
onto its mobile gambling device, eDeck.
eDeck is currently undergoing field trials at The
Venetian in Las Vegas.
Lee Amaitis, President of Cantor Gaming, commented:
“Mickey Wichinsky is one of the most successful and
respected game developers in Nevada. His experience in
gaming IP is unparalleled in the business. We’re honored
to be working with him, and excited about the
possibilities that this acquisition opens up for Cantor
Gaming.
"We have been developing a number of proprietary games
for our eDeck platform and with this move we have added
some of the most creative and successful content in
Nevada gaming to our inventory of games. The long
tradition and quality that Wichinsky brings, coupled
with Cantor’s innovation and our new wireless
technology, will give visitors to Las Vegas an
experience that we think is truly unique.”
Mickey Wichinsky, added: “What Cantor Gaming is doing in
Las Vegas is changing the rules for casinos. With mobile
gaming, operators can give customers the freedom to game
where and when they choose on the premises. The wireless
technology means casinos can tailor the content to their
customers’ preferences, and there’s no limit on the
number of new games they can add. This gives Cantor
Gaming, and the casino operators that work with them,
enormous creative potential and I’m pleased to be
contributing to that.”
