UK will be centre for European marketing initiatives


GigaMedia subsidiary Everest Gaming, which operates the popular online poker website Everest Poker.com, has opened a European office in central London.

Although Everest Poker has had regional marketing staff located throughout Europe for some time, the London office will become the hub for Everest Gaming's marketing initiatives across Europe.

Staff numbers are expected to double with the opening of its London office, boosting the marketing effort in new initiatives in territories such as Portugal, Hungary and Poland.

"With over 95 percent of our revenue coming from Europe, we have a strong understanding of international poker markets and have enjoyed phenomenal growth since our launch in 2004," said Jennifer Joyce, Everest Gaming's CMO. "Our European approach is a model that we have mastered and naturally we are looking to expand this to other countries. Opening an office in central London, Europe's e-business capital, was therefore an obvious next step for us."
