Gamcare gears up for new UK Gambling Act
requirements
The British problem gambling organisation GameCare is
helping online gambling operators to gear up for the
September introduction of the UK Gambling Act by
providing training services for operator staff involved
with problem gambling activities.
GamCare's Andrew Poole is the managing director of
GamCare Trade Services (GTS) which has been formed to
offer specialised training in preparation for the social
responsibility requirements of the Act.
The training software consultancy Absolutely Training
has been inspanned to partner GTS on the project
following its success on Betfair initiatives, and that
company will be among the leaders in signing up for the
new services.
Absolutely and GTS have already produced courses that
include problem gambling and social responsibility, and
the skill required in working with problem gambling.
Betfair's social responsibility manager Kate Stewart
says: “GamCare training has always been an important
part of Betfair’s social responsibility programme. This
new e-learning solution will enable us to ensure that
all staff, across all locations, onshore and offshore,
can benefit from GamCare’s high standards of training.”
