POKERSTARS BURSTS INTO THE RECORD BOOKS AGAIN
1 January 2010
Guiness Book of Records has a new entry
The Pokerstars.com attempt to break the world record for
most players online and in action together (see previous
InfoPowa reports) has been successful.
Pokerstars
first established the record in December 2008 when 35
000 players took to the tables simultaneously, proving
the stability and strength of its software platform.
Then, only six months later, it almost doubled the
record by hosting 65 000 players from 155 different
countries at once.
On December 27th that record
was roundly beaten when 149 196 players paid a buy-in of
a dollar to take part in the $300 000 guaranteed prize
pool of a tournament. 30 000 pokerheads cashed in the
mammoth event, and "oskar69" won it, taking home $50
000.
