MAJOR IPN BADBEAT BONUS AWARDED
1 January 2010
Another loser who's a winner
GTech G2's International Poker Network members had the
excitement and reward of a major badbeat jackpot hit
this week when a player's Quad Kings lost to a Royal
Flush, triggering a badbeat award totalling almost Euro
355 000.
IPN player 72osROCKS!, the loser of the
hand but winner of the Bad Beat Jackpot, received Euro
177 500. Hand winner Nogis22 picked up an extra Euro 88
750 and the other three players at the table each won
Euro 29 583.
"I was pretty excited when I found
myself holding four Kings," said the winner/loser. "My
heart sank when I saw my opponent's Royal Flush – but
that changed quickly when I remembered I was playing at
a Bad Beat table!"
The Bad Beat Jackpot was
created to help ease the frustration of losing even when
you're dealt great cards. With a jackpot requirement
starting at Quad 6s, the IPN's Bad Beat Jackpot is
easier to win than most.
To qualify for the Bad
Beat at IPN poker rooms, players must be at a designated
Bad Beat table and use both pocket cards in their
winning or losing hand. The losing hand must be
four-of-a-kind sixes or better. Four or more players
must be dealt into the hand.
The big badbeat
award comes at the end of a successful year for the IPN,
which recently celebrated its 3 000 000th player and
dealt its billionth hand last year (see previous
InfoPowa reports).
