ONLINE POKER ROOM CHANGES CONFIRMED (Update)
30 January 2009
Doyle’s goes to Cake Poker, and Playboy sends its
players to Intercasino
Recently rumoured changes in poker room networks for
Doyle's Poker and Playboy Poker (see previous InfoPowa
reports) have now been confirmed by events this week.
Players at Doyle's Room - and especially delighted US
poker fans - report that the switch to Cake Poker is
going smoothly. The former network for Doyle's,
Microgaming, apparently still hosts older versions of
the Doyle’s Room software, but those will drop off by
the end of January.
Players are being advised to uninstall the old Doyle’s
Room software and download the new Cake version, which
will take them on to the Cake Poker Network. The move
will hopefully be Doyle's last, as it has previously
been hosted by Tribeca, then Playtech, then Microgaming
and now Cake.
The move of Playboy Poker players to Cryptologic's
Intercasino poker room has reportedly been less
seamless, with players reporting difficulties with
claiming their Playboy loyalty points through what seems
to have been a code screw-up.
Presumably these players will ultimately find their way
to the G-Tech Boss Media International Poker Network, to
which Crypto is transferring its player liquidity in
March.
