CARDSPIKE AXED FROM P.A.P. (Update)
9 January 2009
Poker affiliate program removes no-slow pay
Internet poker site
The message board and website storm over Cake Poker
Network skin CardSpike's alleged no-slow pay conduct
(see previous InfoPowa report) continued over the
weekend as news surfaced that Poker Affiliate Programs
had axed the troubled website on December 31st.
Prior to the expulsion a PAP representative at that time
posted: “We are working behind the scenes with CardSpike
trying to get the payments issued as fast as possible
but with the holidays, it doesn’t make anyone’s job
easier. They are a client of ours and unfortunately were
run poorly which is why Peter [a change of management]
was brought in to correct this.”
Later that day, a PAP administrator reported that PAP
would no longer recommend the site and revoked its All
In status, and a staff member suggested that
“...everyone remove their links and cease promotion of
this product as it does not appear they can salvage the
brand given all the negative issues that have taken
place.”
CardSpike’s website is still active on the Cake Poker
network as the furore grows and is widely commented upon
across the Internet. The site only opened late 2008,
boasting an experienced management team of unidentified
industry people and promising generous rakeback
arrangements. It apparently ran into trouble within two
months amid the usual excuses that tend to flag a
cash-strapped firm.
The owners of CardSpike are listed as Gibraltar-based
Domain Holdings Limited, which has a Curacao licence and
uses a mix of Cake Gaming, Realtime Gaming and
proprietary software across some 18 mainly sportsbetting
websites. Affiliate marketing in the group is promoted
by the Commission Account gambling affiliate program.
