First ever multiplayer Mahjong game launched on Facebook

Members of the vast community website Facebook (there are currently 61 million members and counting) now have mahjong playing as an additional gaming diversion on their visits to the site.

World Mahjong Tour, Inc., an Asia focused gaming company has launched what it claims is the first ever Mahjong and Big Two multiplayer software game applications on the popular website.

"Both Mahjong and Big Two are extremely popular Asian games with a massive following worldwide," say Pierre Wuu and David Wang, founders of the company. "We plan to bring and introduce many Asian games to the entire worldwide audience in English and other languages."

There is an estimated 100 million Mahjong players worldwide, said Wang, adding that Mahjong is considered to be the national pastime game of China and is one of the most widely played games in the world, especially in Asian countries.

The WMT mahjong game comes in Chinese and English and allows users to quickly learn and improve their skills. Users can play social or competitive online Mahjong 24 hours a day simply by logging into Facebook, and in the future other online social networking sites the founders have in mind. English support will be available soon for the Big 2 game.

"With this new launch on the Facebook Platform we will be the leader in presenting Asian games to a worldwide global audience. Facebook has a strong presence outside Asia in both North America and Europe. This is a market which very few Asian gaming companies have entered." said Pierre Wuu. "This market will only grow."
