UIGEA strikes again....


The U.S. ban on financial transactions with online gambling companies has impacted yet another international company, this time the Australian group Lasseters Corporation.

In its report on the half year Ended 31 December 2007 Lasseters Corporation reported that it is likely to announce a pre-audited loss in the vicinity of $1.9 million at EBITDA level.

The results reflect the impact from the passing of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act on Lasseters' online casino coupled with the costs incurred in the marketing and build up of the new online sportsbook operation, Lasseters Sports.

Lasseters Corporation Limited (formerly GoCorp Limited) is an online casino operator, providing casino gambling services to the international market. The company was formed in 2001 through the merger of publicly listed GoCorp Limited with Lasseters Casino Pty Limited.
