New $100 000 guaranteed tourney launched


The pots are getting bigger at Betfair Poker. The site has added a new $100 000 guaranteed Sunday night tournament that will boost the monthly guarantees up to $4 million.

"We already have some of the biggest cash games available on the Internet, and we want to be able to offer our customers regular higher value and larger buy-in tournaments," said Bruce Stubbs, Betfair's director of poker.

The new $100 000 guaranteed tournament will be a $555 buy-in, deep-stack event. The inaugural tournament will take place Sunday at 6:30 p.m. and play each week on that day and time.

"We are also offering a good range of qualifiers for the $100 000, including freerolls, to ensure that everyone on Betfair has a chance of playing," Stubbs said.

Qualifiers have already begun, and there are several ways for players to win their way into the guaranteed event.
