990 players for weekend tournament
The Costa Rican-based betting group Bodog is rapidly
carving itself a place in the big Sunday online poker
tournaments offered by top Internet poker sites, and
this weekend attracted a field of 990 contestants for
its $100 000 Guaranteed tournament.
With a buy-in of $100+$9 and a guaranteed prizepool of
at least $100 000 the tournament offered a viable
alternative to many players looking for Sunday evenind
action.
Winner Bjartur claimed the first prize of $25 000 after
beating player YoungGun7 in the heads up, leaving the
runner up with a check for $14 000, whilst even the
first man out on the final table earned himself $ 1 550.
The Bodog tournament is now a regular Sunday fixture,
with $100 000 guaranteed tournament runs each Sunday at
4 p.m. (EST) at Bodog.com. The prize pool will be at
least $100 000 no matter how many people enter.
Besides the direct buy-in, players can win their way
into the Texas Hold'em tournament through smaller
tournaments for as little as $1 or 250 Bodog Poker
Points.
