SIS LAUNCHES NEW POOL-BASED GAME
10 February 2012
New game a football betting first claims
company
The UK Football League's exclusive data
distributor, SIS, has in collaboration with Contagious
Sports launched a new pool-based game which will for the
first time allow bettors to bet into an in-running pool
on live football matches to win jackpots.
The
Contagious Sports-developed game follows a simple format
with each selected match split into 40 5-minute
segments, each segment – 20 for the home team and 20
away – is given a number and for a GBP 1 stake, punters
choose three numbers.
Their first number is
entered into the One Goal Jackpot and if a goal is
scored in that segment, they win a share of the jackpot.
If goals are scored in all three numbered segments, then
they win a share of the Three Goal Jackpot. No scoring
matches produce a rollover to the next designated match.
SIS will supply in-running scores and statistics,
marketing and game promotions to existing and new
customers both online and in betting shops.
Jack
Davison, director of sports data at SIS, said: "We have
worked closely with Contagious on getting this product
to market. We believe it's the first of its kind where
you can bet into a pool during a football match. It's
also got a lottery element and it's risk-free to the
bookmaker and, taken all together, those factors make it
an exciting product.
"We see excellent
opportunities for e-gaming and retail customers at home
and internationally and we are delighted to have
concluded this agreement with Contagious."
Peter
Glancy, chief executive officer of Contagious Sports
said: "We believe it offers all the rewards of pool
betting and all the excitement of in-running. Punters
can buy as many tickets as they want and continue
playing throughout the match. And obviously, the more
people who play, the bigger the jackpot prizes will be.
"The product is truly ground-breaking and changes
the whole dynamics of football pool betting. We have
received outstanding feedback about the game from many
lottery and gaming operators.
"We're delighted to
work with SIS given their position in football data and
their expertise and experience in the market place."
