ROW OVER POKER PROS' DEBT TO FULL TILT CONTINUES
(Update)
10 February 2012
Matusow owes $700 000, claims Groupe Bernard
Tapie legal representative
The furore over a reportedly $16.5 million
total debt owed by former Full Tilt Poker professional
players to the embattled company continued Wednesday
with allegations that Mike Matusow owed $700 000.
Matusow immediately denied the claim via Twitter.
On the face of it, the allegation comes from a
persuasive source - Groupe Bernard Tapie's lawyer Behn
Dayanim - and flows from that company's due diligence
inspections in pursuit of its acquisition of Full Tilt.
Dayanim told the Pokerupdate information site that
Matusow owed $700 000 and had not responded to attempts
at starting a discussion over the debt.
The
lawyer also firmed up the amount allegedly owed by 19
top names in world poker to a total of $16.5 million.
