Police units in Malaysia raided a series of premises in
a week long anti-online gambling operation, seizing 225
computers and detaining 47 men, according to reports
from the Bernama news agency. All of the detained men
were later released on bail.
CID deputy chief
Supt Nazlan Idris said 28 raids were held during the
operation, which launched on January 31.
"Some
cyber cafe operators continue to operate Internet
gambling activities despite our raids, for example one
in Pokok Sena which had been raided three times," said
Nazlan during a news conference at the Kedah Contingent
Police Headquarters. He added that police will continue
operations.
