MORE POKERSTARS PEACE TALKS (Update)
3 February 2012
Online poker giant shows willingness to
resolve player issues
Following the successful comprise reached earlier
this month between PokerStars and French negotiators on
changes to rake calculations and VIP rewards (see
previous InfoPowa report), industry observers report
similar on further week-long negotiations between the
online poker giant and representatives from a wider
player interest group nominated by the twoplustwo poker
forum community.
Solutions from the "player
meeting" as reported by twoplustwo include PokerStars
agreeing to reduce its rake by 2 percent from its
previous 1 percent, equating to a net revenue gain to
players and a loss to PokerStars, the relaxation of VIP
Club status requirements and the introduction of new
microstakes levels.

PokerStars has reportedly recognised that its
communication methods were insufficient and has
expressed willingness in providing more notice in future
of changes that affect its customers.
Additionally, PokerStars has committed to the
introduction of a bi-annual meeting for player
representatives during the months of April and November
to discuss player issues.
