New media planning agency wins lucrative account  

Online betting exchange Betfair has reportedly committed its GBP 2 million media planning and buying account to Havas Media-owned agency Arena Media. The appointment was reported to have been made without calling for a pitch.

Betfair appointed Big Al's Creative Emporium to its advertising account in June 2011 and its digital account covering social media, mobile and online creative to Karmarama in October 2011 (see previous InfoPowa reports).

The company spent GBP 1.9 million on media (mainly comprising television advertising) in 2010 reports Campaign Live.
