VISA JOINS MASTERCARD IN US CLAMPDOWN
5 February 2010
Piling on the agony for US online gamblers
The giant Visa card processing conglomerate has joined
Mastercard in clamping down on Internet gambling
transactions, according to growing reportage in the US
media.
Although the implementation of the UIGEA
regulations has been delayed to June 2010, the
e-processing companies seem intent halting the allegedly
widespread practice of operators cloaking online
gambling transactions by coding them as other forms of
ecommerce.
