ANOTHER BAN FOR JJPRODIGY
20 February 2009
Now Cake Poker penalises Josh Field
With bans at PokerStars, Full Tilt and Party Poker
besmirching his now dicky reputation, you would think
that Josh Field aka JJProdigy, ablackcar and who knows
how many other aliases would have developed some
morality and ethics by now, but it appears such a
epiphany is not to be.
This talented - but
apparently integrity challenged - young player has now
been banned for multi-accounting offences at the Cake
Poker Network after security investigations showed that
he had been allowing a "stakee" to play on his account.
Before he had even reached the age of 18 Field was
rumbled by Party Poker in 2006 for multi account related
behaviour, and this was followed by other bans for
similar offences.
As recently as last (2008)
year PokerStars ejected players with links to Field who
had allegedly been helping him to sneak back on to the
site to play on different accounts.
His behaviour
is characterised by excuses and apologies once caught,
along with promises not to misbehave again and an
acknowledgement of a lesson well learned, but regretably
these experiences never seem to take root in his
conscience, and responsibility and integrity appear to
elude this clever yet foolish youngster.
In his
latest escapade, Field was reportedly playing under the
name OnThatGrind and allowed players he was staking to
use that account to play high limit games. It could be
that Field's notoriety preceded him, enabling alert
security staff to expose the fraud. Perhaps this thought
will more effectively motivate him to fly right in
future.
Here's an example of a typical JJProdigy
apology, posted at the 2+2 forum in the past:
“I
do believe I have matured and developed a sense of
morals and personal ethics. I was always too scared to
apologize to the community, mostly due to the fact I
didn’t think what I was doing was wrong. I finally
realize now that I was cheating completely. I neglected
my fellow poker players and cheated a wonderful thing we
have with online poker. I betrayed a community I cared
so much about all for selfish reasons. It shames me to
think about it. I did it for so long, and I never had
the courage to quit and admit what I was doing was
wrong.”
“So, I write this to officially apologize
to the community. I apologize to the people that have
been close to me and have been given a negative name due
to my actions. I apologize to all the players I played
with under unknown names and gave myself an unfair
advantage. I give my word that I will never
multi-account again, and I will not play online until I
am 18. I apologize to the sites that I unfairly took
advantage of. I don’t expect to be forgiven right away,
but I hope I can earn the forgiveness of the community,
the sites, and even my friends.”
