Some UK staff given the option to move to the Rock

 

Gibraltar-based online gambling group Stan James (Gibraltar) Limited is to consolidate its support and customer service operations, closing down its Abingdon, UK facility in favour of a beefed up centre in Gibraltar, reports the Gibraltar newspaper, Panorama.

Seventy-four jobs will go with the closure at Grove Technology Park although the staff are being offered the chance to transfer to the Rock, and have until February 11 to decide on whether to move. After that date, the vacancies will be made available to local Gibraltar residents.

Stan James CEO Peter Fisher said the decision would streamline customer service facilities and reduce costs.
